Once more within a week cancer has robbed our world of one of it's great talents, this time, Alan Rickman. He was once offered the honor of knighthood by Queen Elizabeth 2, however he declined. Alan Rickman was not only Snape, but the irreverent and hilarious angel from Dogma, the vexed vintner from Bottle Shocked and so much more. One of his favorite characters of mine was from Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves. Although Kevin Costner's acting stunk beyond belief as the too old and too Midwest American to be cast as Robin Hood, Alan Rickman's Sheriff of Nottingham was brilliant. His dialogue with his cousin Guy of Gisborne is one of my all time favorite movie lines...
Sheriff: I'm going to cut his heart out with a spoon!
Guy of Gisborne: Why a spoon cousin?
Sheriff: Because it's dull you twit, it will hurt more!
Right now the Harry Potter marathon has commenced, on 'The Chamber of Secrets' right now. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family.
